It would be extremely awesome to have a feature in the mobile app to select filament color, type, temperatures, and how much is left on the spool. Then, we could write this information to an inexpensive NFC tag with the phone’s built-in NFC capability, allowing us to attach them to regular spools. I’d pay money for a set of NFC tags, maybe even individual tags for colors and materials to make your own combos. OR customizable ones you can setup in your own machine. For those that are interested though i would start a repository of NFC tags for Bambu Lab's filament. I'm hoping that someone will make a tool where you can purchase NFC stickers with basic colors that the AMS can identify.
You can use Sunlu's refills on Bambu's spools, and you can re-use the RFID tags from the Bambu rolls if you want to keep the AMS updated. I used this adapter, which compensates for the narrower cardboard spool that Sunlu uses. I used the sample PLA filament that came with the machine and after I finished it I rerolled a new filament spool onto it, however, the X1 no longer recognizes the RFID tag and ignores it. I know the RFID tag system is working because it sees the Babmu support W just fine.
